Terms

Last updated 24 October 2026

In short: share only your own true story, be kind, credit quotes honestly. Your story stays yours. You give us permission to show it on the site, and you can take it down whenever you like.

Using Lived Quotes

By signing in or sharing a story you agree to these terms and to our privacy page. You must be 18 or older. Reading the site is free and needs no account.

What you can share

Editors

A person reads every story before it appears. Editors may publish it, send it back with a kind note, or decline it, and may take down a published story later (for example to protect someone’s privacy). This is our judgement, made with care; we do not have to publish any story.

Your story, your rights

You keep ownership of what you write. By sending a story, you give Lived Quotes a free, non-exclusive permission to show it on livedquotes.com, under the name you chose, including in the share link and the picture made by “Save image”. This permission ends when your story is removed, except for copies other people have already saved or shared. Quotes belong to their authors; please share only short quotes.

Removing your story or account

Remove any of your stories under “My stories” at any time. To delete your account and everything with it, write to hello@livedquotes.com from the email you sign in with.

Please be gentle with yourself

Some stories here touch on loss and hard times. Lived Quotes is not a counselling or emergency service. If you are in danger or crisis, please contact local emergency services or a helpline in your country.

No guarantees

We run Lived Quotes with care, but it is provided as it is, without guarantees that it will always be available or free of errors. As far as the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from using the site or from what other people write. Stories reflect their writers’ own experiences, not advice.

Changes and law

We may update these terms. When we do, we will change the date at the top. These terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions: hello@livedquotes.com.
